A DC Comics é fenomenal.

Ela fez o meu ano.

English version:

He is not just a complete Comic Book Artist who writes, draws and colors : he should be really proud and take credit for making history with the most famous female comic super hero. Jason Badower wrote and did an amazing art and colors of “Sensation Comics Featuring Wonder Woman” #48 . Here is a little help for you guys in case your are not connecting the dots properly. He was the one responsible for putting Wonder Woman celebrating the wedding of two women in August 2015 - just a few months later the USA Supreme Court recognized and legalized same sex marriage nationwide. Most of the Amazon's fans have reached the general consensus that she would totally support same sex marriage, once Themyscira was inhabitated only by women, which means, they were likely to have loving relationships - and Diana is also a commited advocate of the rights of equality between men and women... It is a bit too obvious to mention that the LGBT community is part of what she believes - but Jason went even further: he put that on paper and added this breakthrough in the legacy of this character.

Therefore, we chose him to be the first, of many others to come, to feature in our "Multiverse 3 questions" series!

1 - Well, DC has chosen the 10 most important moments in 2015... One of them was about the growing diversity in the stories and their heroes: they mentioned that of the two women´s wedding which was celebrated by Wonder Woman in Sensation Comics. What does it feel like to have such this huge moment in comics in the spotlight and to know that you were the artist who did that?

JB: I did not know about that until you sent it to me. I was so humbled! DC Comics is HUGE. Their output is quite simply, awe-inspiring. That my little story managed to make its way through this immense and amazing body of work to garner this sort of notice is incredibly vindicating and inspiring for me.

2 - What was in your mind when you decided to tell that story? Why putting Wonder Woman in the position to embrace the huge LGBT community?

JB: To me, this story is a reflective and progressive look at the character of Wonder Woman. I believe, right from her inception by the Marstons in 1941 that her belief in gay marriage is a logical extension of who she is and what she's always stood for. To believe that a society of women wouldn't have marriage (or the equivalent) is ridiculous. They may be Amazons, but they're still human - and humans need companionship. As queen, her mother would have been responsible for authorizing marriages on Paradise Island. As royalty, that duty would also fall to Diana. I still maintain that Wonder Woman would marry anyone as long as they could swear their vows on her Lasso of Truth. You say it's her embracing the LGBT community, but I actually see it the other way around. It is the LGBT community embracing her.

3 - What is it like to have such a comic icon like Wonder Woman in your hands?

JB: Right from before I can remember I have had a box of comics. My parents don't even know where they came from. From reading them into tatters I learned to love all comic book characters, but Superman and Wonder Woman are my favorites. To craft a story with the two of them feels like being given the keys to the candy store. It's both everything I ever wanted and also a huge responsibility. I just wanted to do them justice (pun intended). I labored over every single line and every panel as long as I could in the time I had. But now? It's just whetted my appetite to do more. I feel I've barely scratched the surface of these two icons.

Extra Question: That wasn´t part of our script but I sent him a print with a praise from Christie Marston, the great-granddaughter of the Amazon´s creator, asking him how he feels about that:

JB: When Christie reached out to me with the most effusive and supportive praise for my story it was one of the most amazing moments of my life. Her grandparent's work was and is such a huge inspiration for me. I couldn't believe she'd even seen the story let alone liked it. It made my year.

Jason has collaborated with the Amazon´s art in "Wonder Woman '77", Chapter 4 (Who´s Sleeping in my Bed) and chapter 13 (Wisdom of Solomon) which talks about spousal abuse. He also holds in his portifolio comics based on TV shows like Heroes, True Blood, The Vampire Diaries, Arrow and Flash.
